Why booking direct costs you less (and what the difference actually buys)

Listing platforms add 14 to 20 per cent to the price you pay. Here is exactly where that money goes, and what we do with it instead.

When you book one of our homes through a listing platform, the platform charges you a guest service fee on top of the nightly rate, and charges us a host commission on the other side. Between the two, somewhere between 14 and 20 per cent of what you pay never reaches the house you are staying in.

Booking on jojobaproperty.com removes both. The rate you see is the rate we set, the payment goes straight to us, and the money that would have gone to a platform goes into the things you actually notice: better linen, a stocked pantry basket, earlier check-in when the calendar allows it, and a phone number that reaches a person in Melbourne rather than a call centre.

It also means we can be flexible. Need a cot, a late checkout, an extra night at short notice, or a rate for a fortnight rather than a weekend? Message us. There is no platform policy between us and a sensible answer.

Every home on this site shows both prices on the booking panel: what you pay here, and what the same stay would cost on a listing platform. Nothing is hidden and the cleaning fee is shown before you enter any details.
